You cannot do anything to earn forgiveness but it has been made available to you free of charge. Jesus Christ paid your debt for your sin. Whether you realize it or not, we are all born with sin in our lives. Some of us live good lives while others have done some things most would call awful sins. Either way, the Bible tells us that we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

1 John 1:9

"But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
